(PRESS RELEASE) -- Kevin
Jackson, the new head coach of The Iowa State University
Cyclones wrestling team will conduct a coaches and wrestlers clinic
at Bishop Alemany High School Wrestling Complex on the campus
Saturday, June 13th 2009, Coach Leonard Simon announced Monday. The
six-hour session will begin inside the Bishop Alemany' Gymnasium
training center.
The cost of the clinic, for Wrestlers is $75 on the same day of the clinic and will be discounted $70 if you bring the flyer. There is a team discount of $50 per wrestler (minimum of 10 wrestlers) with pre-registration on the website http://warriorsrevenge.com/htmldocs/main.html
The Clinic will start at 9 a.m. and will feature personal instruction from the Olympic Gold Medalist Kevin Jackson. Coach Jackson who has been recently named head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones who has accepted the Head Coaching responsibilities for the Iowa State Cyclones which was effective, May 1st 2009.
Jackson was quoted about how he felt about his recent awarded position,
"I am excited to be running the wrestling program. With this group of young men we are going to have a lot of fun and do a lot of winning. I think it is going to be exciting for these young men because there is nothing like winning the NCAA title for Iowa State.”
Coaches Leonard Simon, Murray Crews and Head Richie Garcia along with the Alemany Wrestling Community would like to publically thank the prestigious new Coach of the Iowa State Cyclones for coming to Bishop Alemany High School to be the featured Clinician in our Coaches Clinic here on June 13th 2009. Bishop Alemany is looking to become an affiliate feeder program to Iowa State Cyclones,
Kevin Jackson is known as the last of great heroes as one of the all-Americans on Iowa State’s last NCAA team championship in 1987, in returning to his alumni campus as the Cyclones’ new wrestling coach. With Cael Sanderson leaving the Iowa State Program he left Jackson with an inherited wealth of great talented wrestling pool. Jackson's wrestlers now has great potential to win the 2010 NCAA Wrestling championships next year at Omaha, Nebraska with the return of great leader Jake Varner who was just triple crowned the 2009 NCAA Champion as well as this years USA Freestyle National Champion and 2009 World Team Member.
