King of the Cage’s “Chain Reaction” pulls no punches

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The annual outdoor mixed martial arts show at Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac du Flambeau, Wis., has built a stellar reputation with its King of Cage events. This year’s card for the July 17 show ups the ante on many levels.

First, for the national pay-per-view broadcast fans will get to see the finals of the 155-pound tournament that kicked off the casino’s April show. In the finals are former King of the Cage champion Clay French (16-6) against Wisconsin’s top-ranked James Warfield (14-6). Both fighters are coming off impressive wins in the tournament and this promises to be a battle at a quick pace with the fight being equally as explosive on the feet as it will be on the ground.

Next, local standout and rising star, Sam Alvey will put his 10-1 record on the line in his toughest fight to date. Across from him in the cage in the main event will be Minnesota’s Nick Thompson, a veteran of 50 professional bouts (38-11-1). Thompson has defeated the likes of Eddie Alvarez and Josh Neer and has fought all over the globe.

Alvey is a gritty fighter known for being able to finish a fight from any position. Also appearing will be another fan favorite in Will Dicke (6-2).

Making a guest appearance will be former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia. “The Maineiac” will be available for autographs and photos. Sylvia is coming off his victory over five-time World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski in Moosin.

“The outdoor show at Lake of the Torches has always been great for fans. We wanted to give them something even better and I think we hit the mark,” promoter and matchmaker Monte Cox said.
