LIGHTWEIGHT CLASH BETWEEN ALONZO MARTINEZ AND AARON DERROW ADDED TO TITAN FC 16

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Titan Fighting Championship
(www.TitanFighting.com) announced today the addition of a
lightweight clash between Alonzo Martinez (27-14-1) out of Omaha,
Nebraska vs. Aaron Derrow (8-2) from Kansas City, Missouri to its
Titan Fighting Championship 16 event, scheduled for Friday, January
28. The event will air live on HDNet (www.HD.net) and will emanate
from the historic Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Martinez vs. Derrow bout joins an already announced card that includes a main event between two-time UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia vs. TUF 10 cast member Abe Wagner; UFC and DREAM veteran Jason High taking on Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Rudy Bears in a welterweight contest; and UFC veteran Drew McFedries squaring off vs. Strikeforce veteran Gary Tapasua in a clash of hard-hitting middleweights.
Martinez is one of the most popular fighters in all of the Midwest
and is a former Bellator lightweight tournament competitor. Since
making his pro debut in 2003, Martinez has recorded notable
victories over the likes of current UFC fighter Waylon Lowe; UFC
veterans Ryan Roberts and Luke Caudillo; and Brandon Melendez, a
veteran from the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter.
He will face a strong challenge in the form of Derrow, who currently has won his last four fights, including a second round submission victory over Strikeforce veteran Joe Wilk. The 23-year old Derrow initially made a name for himself after submitting three opponents in one night en route to claiming Fight to Win's single-night lightweight tournament crown in 2009.
