Lake wants shot at Kraniotakes

(PRESS RELEASE) -- HAVING made a successful Cage Warriors debut last weekend, Dayman Lake has already set his sights on a clash with Andreas ‘Big Daddy’ Kraniotakes (12-4-0).

Lake (2-0-0) took just over a minute to dispose of Rab Truesdale at Cage Warriors 44 in London on Saturday night. Truesdale was a late replacement for Lake’s original opponent, Jay Mortimore, who was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a back injury.

However, Mortimore (6-2-0) remains keen on a rescheduled meeting with Lake, who says he’s more than willing to take on ‘Mean Streak’ when he returns to full fitness.

“That's absolutely fine with me,” said Lake. “I want to get to the top. I believe Kraniotakes is the top heavyweight on Cage Warriors so if I have to go through Jay to get to him, that’s what I’ll do.”

Kraniotakes is currently on a three-fight winning streak, having stormed to first round victories over Mortimore, Dave Keeley and David Shvelidze since June.

Ambitious 22-year-old Lake added: “I believe I can get to the top. I honestly believe there’s no point competing if you don't plan to win and winning means holding titles in the top organisations.”
