Less Than Two Weeks Until Professional Muay Thai Fighter Christine Toledo Fights in World Title Bout
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Professional Female Muay Thai Fighter Christine
Toledo is scheduled to fight for the World Combat Sports Challenge
(WCSC) 52kg World Title on May 30 at the Kezar Pavilion in San
Francisco, California. Toledo's opponent has yet to be announced.
WCSC promoter is finalizing a contract with the "To Be Announced"
contender.
Toledo says, "Even though I don't know exactly who I'm fighting, I'm preparing to be thrown to the wolves. I don't like the idea of not knowing who will be in the ring with me, but I've been training hard and preparing as best I can for everything and anything. This fight may not allow me to strategize a game plan in time before I step in the ring with my opponent. It'll be like a pop-quiz".
Toledo is currently ranked #1 internationally in the 52kg weight division by the Women's International Kickboxing Association (WIKBA), which was recently updated in March 2009. Her most recent bout took place in Zhengzhou, China on November 17, 2008, which resulted in a victory for Toledo over Chinese top female fighter Mao Lin Ninga. Toledo's record improved to 14 wins.
"My trainers have always advised me to never underestimate who I fight. Just because my opponent is being announced on short notice, doesn't mean they won't be ready for me. I believe that there's always someone out there training to beat me. The woman who steps in the ring with me on May 30, could possibly be one of them".
WCSC has themed this event "The Awakening". It is the first event in the state of California to showcase Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai in a five-rope ring. The line-up for this event include many talented male and female contenders from the Bay Area, around the country, and abroad.
