Levy & Good to Take the Stage
Levy & Good to Take the Stage at International Fight League
July 10, 2007 - The elite "Team Tiger Schulmann" Fight Team recently announced that on Thursday, August 2nd, young gunners Nissim Levy and Lyman Good will be fighting in preliminary matches of the International Fight League's 2007 semifinals round at Continental Airlines Arena, in East Rutherford, NJ. Celebrating their world premier season, the IFL is known throughout the martial arts community for their draw of extremely competitive fighters, and this event promises to be a thriller as usual. Team TS top prospects Levy and Good will each have perhaps their toughest and most exciting mixed martial arts matches to date.
24-year old native Long Islander and Manhattan instructor, Nissim Levy, has established himself as one of the most fierce, aggressive and balanced MMA fighters since bursting onto the scene with a submission win against Ken Gibson (FMS-TVT) in April of 2006. After a brief hiatus, Levy has been training 3-4 hours a day for months with his fellow elite Team TS teammates in preparation for this fight. In front of a packed house in New Jersey's Meadowlands, he will be out to prove that he's one of the most headstrong, dangerous and unpredictable fighters in the game. At 185 lbs, he will meet Renzo Gracie (Pictures)'s Dante Rivera, a jiu-jitsu expert with an impressive 9-3-0 record. Adding extra suspense to the fight, Rivera defeated Alexis Aquino (Rhino Fight Team) at June 23rd's Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) in Atlantic City, NJ with a 2nd round ankle lock submission. Aquino is the only fighter to have defeated Team TS's Nissim Levy, making Levy's match with Rivera even more meaningful.
Also fighting at the IFL's August 2nd event will be 175 lb Team TS budding star Lyman Good. The 22-year old native New Yorker rolls confidently into his undercard fight after defeating Doug Gordon (Rio Jiu-Jitsu) at June 23rd's CFFC by unanimous decision and pummeling The Bomb Squad's Erik Charles with an injury stoppage at Ring of Combat's ‘Tournament of Champions' finals in Atlantic City, NJ on April 27th. Remarkably poised and well-disciplined for such a young fighter, Good has already established an intimidating reputation for himself by taking opponents apart with well-crafted strategies, sheer striking power and superb conditioning. Nicknamed "The Cyborg," Good has also been training 3-4 hours each day for months and will bring his unblemished 5-0 MMA record to the Meadowlands as he takes to the canvas against Team Quest's Mike Dolce (Pictures). Dolce is also a team member of the IFL's team Wolfpack, weighing in at 170 lbs. Dolce's last big win came earlier this year at an IFL event in Atlanta when he knocked out Jim Abrille of the Dragons with a barrage of first round punches.
Be sure to come out and support Nissim Levy and Lyman Good, two of the most promising and exciting Team Tiger Schulmann fighters, as they continue their quest towards MMA super-stardom this summer. The event is on Thursday, August 2nd at 7:30 PM at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ.
