MFC Signs Marvin Eastman to Three-Fight Contract

Apr 01, 2009

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Maximum Fighting Championship announced Wednesday the signing of brawling sensation Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman (15-9-1) to a three-fight contract in the light heavyweight division.

Eastman, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, is returning to the weight class that made his career after a brief, two-fight foray at 185lbs. Despite coming from a strong wrestling background, he has developed some nasty stand-up at the Lewis-Pederneiras Value Tudo camp in Las Vegas and is best-known for his heavy hands.

The former UFC veteran has squared off against some of the best in the business; and, having defeated the likes Quinton Jackson, Alan Belcher, and former MFC champion Jason MacDonald, Eastman, poses an immediate threat to Emanuel Newton and the rest of the 205 lbs. division.

Eastman is set to fight at MFC 21: Hard Knocks on May 15th, but an opponent has yet to be finalized.

Tickets for MFC 21: Hard Knocks are available through www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-800-451-8000. The event will also be broadcast live in the United States on HDNet at 10pm EST.
