MMA Italy Golden League II
(PRESS RELEASE) -- As usual in the sport Hall "Lago Figo" in Genoa
Saturday the 13 of December 2008 had place the second stage of the
Golden League Fight Network (www.kombatfestival.it), the new
fighting sports promotion managed by former world champion Marco
Costaguta and MMA Italy.
More than 700 spectators and many guests from the world of sport and institutions were worthy frame of 13 full intense matches (broadcasted by sat by TELEGENOVA) and widely covered by all local media (all the event will be also published on DVD by "Kung Fu DVD Magazine").
2 were the MMA fights in the billboard. In the first Begnis Luigi from Freecombat Academy Bergamo fought with the French Shindokai karate fighter Jean Baptiste Serpagli. This fight replaced the scheduled match between Christian Leoni and French David Benakezouh, annulled due to unavailability of both athletes.
Serpagli has proved to be a powerful striker while the Italian has definitely restored the games when he managed to bring the opponent to the ground. Some errors due to inexperience probably not have helped to close the match with a submission which, ironically, came to the French.
In the second round Serpagli, after a couple of overturning, was able to submit the Italian with a rear neck choke.
Anyway, big applause of the audience for both the athletes who have demonstrated the right qualities to get in evidence in the world of MMA.
Main event of the evening still a MMA, between the Italian Riccardo Schiesaro from Loano and another French guy, Samuel Sudjian, also from karate Shindokai but with previous experience in judo. Experienced but not enabled to counteract the power of Schiesaro, which are enough 21 seconds to submit his opponent with a powerful Ground Pound.
