Few but exciting fights Saturday nights in Pieve Emanuele (Milan,
Italy) at the first national championship promoted by MMA
Italy.
Paolo Fontanelal (TST Italy)won the title of the light Heavy Weights submitting with a triangle choke Gabriele Cortonesi (Sestito academy of martial arts). Very beautiful and intense match, with a very courageous Cortonesi who fought despite an injury to his right hand.
More lucky his team mate Luca Ronchetti that won the crown of Middle Heavy Weights against Luca Calzolari (MMA Turin). At 1'15'' of the first round the doctor stopped Calzolari because of a deep cut under his right eye. What a pitty, the guys started the fight in a very aggressive way and the attendance was expecting a great match . We hope to see the revenge between the two athletes as soon as possible.
Beautiful and with a final thrill the fourth match, for the belt of the cruiser weights between Paolo Corias (Fight Club Sassari) and Francesco Scatizzi (Team Dog Eat Dog Marco Santi, Florence). The two fighters were already fought in thai boxing and the first phase of combat is in fact carried out entirely with powerful standing exchanges of blows.
Then the Florentine has managed to bring the match to the ground, showing greater preparation in this area. Excellent however, the defense of Corias against the ground and pound of the opponent who, failing to find the decisive punch, has successfully attempted an armbar that forced Sardinian to tap out just a second before the ring of the bell.
