Mescalero’s Own Coty “OX” Wheeler Clashes With Mike Chupa at The Mescalero Warrior Challenge

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mescalero Warrior Challenge will be held on February 26th at 7:00 PM at New Mexico’s Premiere Mountain Resort, Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino located high in the picturesque mountains of Mescalero, New Mexico just outside of Ruidoso. The Mescalero Warrior Challenge will feature a stacked card of exciting Mixed Martial Arts action highlighted by Mescalero’s own Coty “OX” Wheeler fighting Mike Chupa in the Main Event. The Mescalero Warrior Challenge will be held in the Mescalero Convention Center at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino.

WEC Vet Coty “OX” Wheeler (13-3) will bring his aggressive and explosive fighting style to the cage when he fights Mike Chupa (4-5) hailing from El Paso, TX. Coty is renowned for his flying armbar and his exciting finishes by way of submission or strikes. Coty will be fighting at home and is looking to take out Chupa. The majority of Chupa’s wins have come via submission. This matchup promises to deliver an explosive finish for fight fans.

The card will also have four additional professional fights featuring fighters from the World Famous Jackson’s MMA Gym in Albuquerque, NM:

Tommy Truex 7-3 Jackson’s MMA, Albuquerque, NM vs. J.R. Sotelo 2-4 El Paso, TX 155lbs.

Rich Chavez 2-5 Jackson’s MMA, Albuquerque NM vs. Alfredo Herrera 2-1 Hobbs, NM 145lbs.

Brendan Weafer 4-3 Jackson’s MMA, Albuquerque NM vs. Donnie Martinez 4-6 Alamogordo, NM 155lbs.

Vadiano La Luz 0-2 Jackson’s MMA, Albuquerque NM vs. Manny Aquilar 1-0 Las Cruces, NM 185lbs.

In addition to the Pro Card a full set of four amateur fights are scheduled. These fights will feature some of New Mexico’s very best amateurs so be sure to catch all the fights.

Weigh-ins for The Mescalero Warrior Challenge will be held on Friday, February 25th at 6:00 PM in Mescalero Ball Room at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino. Weigh-Ins will proceed from the bottom of the card to the Main Event. Amateurs will be weighed in first followed by pros. Family, Friends and Fans are encouraged to attend and support their favorite fighters.
