Muay Thai Legends Clash at Friday Night Fights NYC’s Home Arena

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Church Street Boxing Gym’s Friday Night Fights NYC Series combines old school fight club vibe with the oldest martial arts form in the world!

Whether or not you’re a fight fan the Friday Night Fights NYC Series is known throughout NYC as the event to be at. And on Friday November 5, a full card of Muay Thai takes place with local legend Rigel “Cool Hearts” Balsimico coming out of retirement to take on the toughest fighter from the left coach - San Francisco’s William “BeBe” Etzler. The card willl feature more than a dozen Muay Thai. “Only the best of the best fighters ever to appear on our series will be competing at this event” said event promoter Justin Blair who also happens to own the Church Street Boxing Gym, “Further more, this time they are all fighting each other!”

Rigel Balsimico with nearly 100 fights under his belt - including a nearly perfect 65-1 amateur record, has fought across the globe - but has chosen to make his come back in his home town - NYC!

The popularity of Muay Thai has grown in recent years, especially in New York, where MMA is still illegal whereas Muay Thai is perfectly legal.

The Friday Night Fights NYC are the perfect combination of the old school New York club fight shows of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and the new genre of “hipsters and tastemakers”, those new enthusiasts to the sport – Urban professionals and trendsetters itching to get a taste of the old school club fights of yesteryear. Since the events began in 1997 the crowd just keeps on growing – what started as “under ground” fights for a couple of hundred people has grown into a real happening, consistently attracting sell out crowds!

How: Tickets are $35, $50, $70 & $90. Tickets are available either in advance (www.fridaynightfights.com) or on the night of the event, at the door when available. These sell out fast!
