NAAFS Caged Fury 14 Fight Card Released

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Many of the top MMA stars in the region will be in action on Saturday, February 26th when Discount Drug Mart, John P Lennon, Bud Light, Tim Lally Chevrolet and Intimidation Clothing present Caged Fury 14 live from the Grays Armory in Cleveland.

What will no doubt be Ohio's biggest MMA event of the early 2011 season, this card will feature two former Pro Series HW champions, three NAAFS national amateur champions, some of the sports best professional prospects along with some of the nations top amateur fighters.

The pro card will feature UFC veteran Josh Hendricks (19-6) as he drops to 205 lbs for the first time in his career. Hendricks fought Gabe Gonzaga at UFC 91 but has won two of three bouts since his UFC debut and feels a run at 205 may land him back in the big show. "I'm finally fighting where I need to be and probably should have been. Ive never felt better physically or mentally and cant wait to show fans what I can do when Im focused and at my best." said Hendricks. His opponent Dan Spohn (12-4 overall, 3-0 pro) has other ideas as he views the match up with Hendricks as a potential career defining fight and realizes that a win will put him in the national spotlight. Fans in the Midwest are already buzzing about what could be an early fight of the year candidate.

Former NAAFS HW champion "Big" John Hawk (4-2 pro) returns to the cage and looks to get back to the fighter that started his MMA career with ten straight wins and who many felt was on his way to stardom. But the two setbacks have now rejuvenated the former champion whose training partners at the Strong Style camp have told the NAAFS that this has been Hawks best training camp since defeating Joe McCall to win the NAAFS HW title just under a year ago. Hawks opponent will be Montana's Brandon Anderson (3-1 pro) who looks to make a name for himself by defeating a former NAAFS champion in his home state. Anderson is the current Fight Force LHW champion and is coming off a first round KO win over Leo Bercier in December.

Also featured on the pro card will be 2010 national amateur champion Clint Musser (5-0) of Evolve MMA who makes his pro debut at 155 lbs against 2009 co-national champion Bryon McCroskey (8-4) of Team GriffonRawl. McCroskey will also be making his professional debut at Caged Fury 14 which sets up a match up between two of the regions up and coming young lightweights and two premier fight camps.

The amateur card will feature 2010 national bantam weight champion Isaiah Chapman (9-1) as he takes on undefeated phenom Tyler Saltsman (4-0). Saltsman, a former multiple time state champion wrestler from Delaware, wrestled at Penn State and has quickly made a name for himself in the NAAFS. However Chapman is considered by many as one of the most athletic and well rounded bantamweight amateurs in the nation which sets up what could be another fight of the night candidate.

Red Nose Fight Teams Blake Chatham (8-0) will make the trip to Ohio from Missouri to face John Burbol (5-2) of Team GriffonRawl in a battle of two highly respected middleweights. The winner will likely have the inside track to the top spot in the 2011 national amateur rankings when they are released by the NAAFS in May.

Also slated to compete February 26th will be rising national amateur prospects Andrew Law (6-1) of Team Independence, Main Street MMA's Cody Garbrandt (3-1) at 135 lbs, and the highly touted welterweight Victer Crenshaw (1-0) of the Strong Style Camp among many others.

Tickets for February 26th's Caged Fury 14 start at just $25 presale and are on sale now at all Discount Drug Mart locations, on line at www.NAAFS.tv or by calling 330-280-8442.
