Nine full EFC Africa events starting Thursday, counting down to EFC Africa 16 LIVE on Fri. Oct 19

(PRESS RELEASE) -- HOBOKEN, New Jersey (October 4, 2012) - FIGHT NOW TV TM, America's only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel, is set to deliver nine (9) full EFC Africa events, starting this Thursday (Oct. 11), with EFC 8 as part of the channel's "Every Night a Different FIGHT" time slot at 10 p.m. ET.

"This is a great way to introduce mixed-martial-arts fans to the talent and quality of events EFC Africa has to offer," said Mike Garrow, GM and co-founder of the channel. "We're starting with a chronological unveiling of recent events as a lead-in to EFC 16, which will be shown live in North America, only on FIGHT NOW TV.

"Building off Thursday's EFC Africa 8 airing, the EFC Africa marathon will continue with EFC Africa 9 on Friday (Oct. 12), followed by EFC Africa 10 on Saturday (Oct. 13), and EFC Africa 12 to 15 on Monday through Thursday nights (Oct. 15-18), as a lead-in to EFC Africa 16 LIVE on Friday, Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by an encore airing at 10 p.m. ET.

Throughout the course of the week, viewers will witness mixed martial arts from one of the leading shows on the African continent. Each event brings hard-hitting action and showcases established veterans, promotional prospects, and championship belts on the line. EFC Africa 16 will not be an exception with 13 bouts on tap, culminating with a trio of title fights:

Ruan Potts (4-0, 3 KOs, 1 SUB) vs. Bernardo Mikixi (4-2, 4 KOs) for the EFC Africa heavyweight title Jadyson Costa (8-12-1, 3 KOs, 4 SUB) vs. Michiel Opperman (8-6, 2 KOs, 5 SUB) for the EFC Africa welterweight title Demarte Pena (4-0, 2 SUB) vs. Terrence Griessel (4-2, 3 SUB) for the EFC Africa featherweight title The action starts at 3:30 p.m. ET on FIGHT NOW TV with EFC Africa 16.

"Fans can see a year's worth of the best African MMA all packed into one explosive week on FIGHT NOW TV, culminating in a triple-title-fight live event," noted EFC Africa director Cairo Howarth. "North American fans will see champions rise and fall as Africa's greatest warriors go to war."
