Pandemonium V

(PRESS RELEASE) -- MEZ Sports is proud to announce Pandemonium V, Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Riverside Convention Center. For the first time, 3 MMA titles will be on the line on the same night. The doors open at 6:30 and the first fight is at 7:30pm in what promises to be an exciting night of fights. As always, MEZ Sports Pandemonium Fights will feature both professional MMA and boxing on the same night.

Pandemonium V brings 3 title fights to Riverside headlined by Orange County’s Adam Lynn (14-8) out of Subfighter meeting Pomona’s Jason Meaders (12-8) out of Jason Meader’s MMA. Both Lynn, an IFL veteran, and Meaders are well known in the Southern California fight community as rugged fighters who won’t back down to any challenge. An all out brawl is expected when these two meet for the MEZ Sports Pandemonium Fights Lightweight title. The title was recently vacated by Chris Saunders since he was unable to fulfill his obligations as champion. Both fighters promise to make this the fight of the night.

The Co-Main event features Riverside’s Reggie Orr (9-7-1), representing Team Millennia vs. Orange County’s Brent Cooper (6-1). Cooper, fighting out of Team Oyama and an EliteXC veteran, faces Orr for the vacant and inaugural MEZ Sports Pandemonium Fights Middleweight Title. Both fighters are friends outside the ring but know that to succeed and move to the next level, they need to take on all challenges. Neither fighter wants to lose this fight. Also fighting on the card is the “Inland empire Bad Boy” Ricky Legere, Jr. (13-4) meets an opponent to be named for the vacant MEZ Sports Pandemonium Fights Welterweight Title. Legere, a King of the Cage stalwart, is bringing his exciting style of fighting to MEZ Sports and Riverside. Legere knows that a win in front of his hometown fans and his first title will cement his legacy as one of the Inland Empire’s best fighters.

Rounding out the MMA portion of the card, TUF Season 12 and, M-1 vet Steve Magdaleno makes his 145lb debut against San Diego’s Erik Uresk. Orange County’s Ron Scolesdang (Team Oyama) meets Team Diamond’s Kevin Michel in 135lb action. Riverside’s Nikko Cataline (Team Millennia MMA) makes his pro debut in a 155lb fight. Women’s MMA will make its MEZ Sports Pandemonium Fight debut when Michelle Ould faces Christina Marks. Also fighting is Riverside’s Adam Rothweiler (5-3), out of Adrenaline MMA, meets Orange County’s Anthony Frank (1-0), out of Team Oyama, in 125lb action. Rothweiler and Frank have sparred against each other so they are very familiar with each other.

In Boxing, Jaime Ocegueda (2-0, 1KO) returns to Riverside after his “Fight of the Night” on Pandemonium IV. Ocegueda excited Pandemonium IV fans with his toe-to-toe fight against Juan Reyes. Ocegueda was knocked down in the 3rd round but came back to win a hard fought decision. Ocegueda’s crowd-pleasing non-stop fighting style has fight fans talking about this exciting up-and-coming fighter. Ocegueda will fight in a four round fight.

Super featherweight, Juan Reyes (2-0-1, 0 KO’s), out of Bell Gardens, CA, will be fighting on the card. Reyes, who last fought on the undercard of the Darchinyan vs. Perez card in what was considered to be the “Fight of the Night” when Reyes and highly regarded amateur standout Arat Hovhannnesyan engaged in all out war, throwing more punches than the rest of the fights combined, brings his non-stop hard-hitting style to Riverside. Riverside fans should be prepared for another war when Reyes enters the ring.

Riverside’s Andre Ibarra fighting out of the Jurupa Boxing Club will make is 4 round professional debut against Alfonso Martinez, who is also making his professional debut.
