Nov 21, 2008
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Xtreme Cage Fighting (XCF) announced today they will be hosting the “Rumble in Race Town” presented by DynaPep Energy, on Saturday night February 14th at the newly renovated Daytona Beach Ocean Center. Fans attending this season’s Daytona 500 weekend will have a new and very unique opportunity to see a live first class Mixed Martial Arts event while in town for the races.

Dubbed the DynaPep “Rumble in Race Town,” this will be the first MMA event in history to be held in conjunction with a major racing event. Motorsports marketing executive turned MMA promoter Doug Bland feels this event will help grow the sport of MMA. “After 13 years in the Motorsports industry, I am confident our event will expose the sport of MMA to the most loyal fan base in all of sports”, stated Bland. “We are putting together an incredible fight card, so that race fans will get to see what Xtreme Cage Fighting is all about and hopefully develop a new set of fans for the fast growing sport of MMA”. While in Miami for NASCAR’s season ending race Bland had the opportunity to speak with several of NASCAR’s top drivers. “It was awesome to see how excited the drivers and fans were when we told them about the event, we have had several drivers and teams sending us ticket requests and we are still three months out”, stated Bland.

The DynaPep “Rumble in Race Town” will feature a “Las Vegas” quality production along with a mixture of former UFC veterans with some of the top up and coming stars of the sport. Two of last season’s competitors from Spike TV’s hit reality show “The Ultimate Fighter”, Ocala Florida’s Jeremy May and finalist Jesse Taylor are both featured on the Daytona card. Taylor who was scheduled to compete in the season finale for a six figure UFC contract was kicked off the show and was unable to fight for the TUF title. Taylor has done exceptionally well since his experience in the TUF house with a recent first round knockout over 35-4 veteran Drew Fickett. Also featured on the Daytona card are UFC veterans Terry Martin and Brandon Lee Hinkle as well as former Tampa Bay Bucs Pro Bowl defensive end Marcus Jones. Jones will bring his 6’7”, 265 lb frame in to the cage for only the 4th time in his young MMA career as he continues his transition from the NFL to Mixed Martial Arts.

DynaPep has agreed to become the Primary Sponsor of the history making first Daytona fight. DynaPep is the World’s first Super Charged Energy Micro Shot and has contracted UFC Light Heavy Weight superstar Sugar Rashad Evans as their national spokesman.
