Rocktagon MMA Goes Bi-Coastal with ‘Elite 6 Pro-Am’ Drawing Top Amateur and Pro Contenders from Across the U.S.

Rocktagon MMA, known for their highly touted “Amateur Elite” mixed
martial arts series, broke into the Professional MMA scene in
February with Bender vs. Hughes. It was a seamless transition for
the popular fight promotion and they are now gearing up for their
second Pro-Am event, ‘Elite 6 Pro-Am’. The highly anticipated fight
event will take place on Saturday, July 30 at the North Olmsted
Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmsted, Ohio.
Rocktagon MMA is also slated to bring their signature “Amateur Elite Series” to the West Coast this month with ‘Battle on the Bay.’ Rocktagon MMA CEO James Jeda had this to say about the organizations expansion, “We are very excited to be hosting two events in July that span both coasts. We will be hosting our very first amateur event in the Western region and our second Pro-Am event in the East. We are swiftly moving forward with our plans to host high-quality MMA events from coast to coast.”
Rocktagon MMA hosts the only Pro-Am MMA events in the world that
combine adrenalin pumping live rock performances with high-octane
MMA fight action. On July 30, popular Ohio based rock bands
‘Oblivea’ and ‘The Shauns’ will ignite fight fans with electrifying
live performances as Rocktagon MMA contenders prepare to enter the
cage.
The fast-rising MMA promotion also continues to draw elite pro and amateur talent from across the U.S. In the main event, Rocktagon’s current welterweight champion Micah Bender will defend his title for the first time against Vision MMA fighter Chris Curtis. Bender (9-5-0) is arguably Ohio’s top 170lb prospect. He has fought and defeated the best-of-the-best in Ohio’s welterweight division, including Tiawon Howard and current NAAFS champ Nick Duell. Most recently Bender defeated Mickey Hughes to claim Rocktagon MMA’s first ever professional welterweight championship title. If Bender emerges with his championship status intact, Rocktagon MMA executives will have no choice but to venture outside of Ohio to find opponents worthy of facing their champion.
According to Rocktagon MMA president Lorenzo Gentile, “The Rocktagon MMA ‘Elite 6 Pro-Am’ event features a fight card that rivals any Pro-Am event on the East Coast. The card is loaded with championship title bouts and elite fighters from many of the sports leading fight camps.”
Gentile went on to say, “The card features Ohio’s own Micah Bender in his first Rocktagon welterweight championship title defense. Dennis Brown out of New York will be making his pro debut, Matt DiCenso out of Canada will be competing for Rocktagon’s amateur 205lb championship title, Eric Eistile from San Francisco, California will also be featured on the card…and the list goes on. Standing in Bender’s way is Cincinnati, Ohio native Chris Curtis
(5-2-0), a local fighter that has also earned some serious
notoriety in the 170lb division. Curtis, who was recently handed
the first submission loss of his career by former M1 Global
Welterweight champion Tom Gallichio, looks to come back strong by
dethroning Bender and emerging as Rocktagon MMA’s new welterweight
champion. Curtis was riding a five fight win streak prior to his
loss to Gallichio and is highly regarded as one of Ohio’s premiere
mixed martial arts competitors.
