SCC brings top pro fighters to Las Vegas

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Superior Cage Combat presents The Premier Event, SCC 1, at Ballys’s Event Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 21. The card is stacked with top pro MMA fighters, and headlined by the lightweight clash between Steve Lopez (12-4) and Justin Buchholz (8-6). The card is stacked with UFC, WEC, Strikeforce and M1 vets, featuring well-known names such as Rob Emerson, Kit Cope, Dave Terrel, Chuck Grigsby, and many more.

“For our first event I couldn’t even dream of having a card packed with this many amazing fights,” SCC fight promoter Ryan Langmaid said. “We have twenty top fighters on there that all deserve a sold out event. I can’t wait to see Steve Lopez and Justin Buchholz go to war, but I also know that any of the other nine fights have the making for Fight of The Night.”

Tickets for SCC 1 go on sale Thursday May 5, at 12 p.m. PT and will be priced at $35.00, $50.00, $75.00 and $125.00. SCC fans on Facebook, www.facebook.com/superiorcagecombat, will have the opportunity to purchase tickets at 11 a.m. on May 5, one hour before the official release. Tickets will be available at www.superiorcagecombat.com.

The Main Event of the night will feature two time UFC vet Steve Lopez, he will be taking on five time UFC vet and one time EliteXC vet Justin Buchholz. Steve Lopez has put together an impressive record of 12-4. Two of those fights being under the UFC banner against tough competitors Jim Miller and Waylon Lowe. Lopez is an Xtreme Couture fighter and has been training hard with some of the best in the world, and is ready to put on a show and get back on the winning track. That isn’t going to be easy though with an opponent like Justin Buchholz. Buchholz sports a record of 8-6, but don’t let that fool you! He has fought nothing but top competition for the last three years. He’s been in the cage against opponents such as Mac Danzig, Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens, Terry Etim, Corey Hill, and

Matt Wiman. Training out of Team Alpha Male, Buchholz has lots of great talent at his gym, including WEC/UFC superstar Urijah Faber. Buchholz always puts on an exciting fight and will be looking for a big win over Lopez.

In the co-main event of the evening MMA Xplosion Lightweight Champion Lance Wipf, will take on seven time UFC vet Rob “The Saint” Emerson. With a record of 9-3, Lance Wipf will be trying to take his career to the next level by defeating such an experienced opponent as Emerson. “The Saint” has had an extensive career in the UFC, fighting well-known names such as Gray Maynard, Manny Gamburyan, Kurt Pellegrino and many more. His most notable win was over Gamburyan, coming by way of knockout after only twelve seconds in the first round! This fight has the star power to be the main event on any card.
