SH1NE FIGHTS ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING HALFTIME STYLED INTERMISSION SHOW
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Shine Fight Promotions (Shine Fights) phenomenal
card, Shine 2: American Top Team vs. The World, has now been
enhanced with the first-ever halftime styled intermission show.
This show features New York City’s own, The Bartendaz, a collective
of serious calisthenics practitioners who take natural body
movement to another level. The proficiency of The Bartendaz with
the pull-up and dip bar lead to the labeling of themselves as
tenders of the bar hence, The Bartendaz.
“The Bartendaz movement is basically a holistic body weight exercise team taking calisthenics to another level that has never been seen before” says Hassan “Giant” Yasin, Founder of The Bartendaz. “Where usually people might go to the bathroom or go get a cup of beer, now during the intermission of Shine 2 the fans will be able to see something that they’ve never seen before; calisthenics or natural movement on the highest level possible.”
Bartendaz founder, Hassan “Giant” Yasin, was practicing his own unique fitness drills at a park in Harlem, NY. Intrigued, a group of young men nearby began watching and asked for him to explain his technique. Within a few weeks, the number of followers was in the dozens. And within 5 years, the Bartendaz method was being instructed in over 70 New York City Public Schools. The most remarkable result of the program was not the increase in muscular strength and capacity but the dramatic turnaround in the lives of the students. In finding gratification and peer validation in fitness, many of the students chose to veer away from vice and delinquency and reshape their lives.
Because of its foundation in hip-hop culture, Bartendaz has been extraordinarily popular with urban youth, and has been a huge success in the most high-risk schools. The Bartendaz program uses a down to earth approach, integrating martial style discipline with dynamic rhythmic drills. This fusion is so engaging that it allows for seamless leadership training and public health education.
“The Bartendaz natural movement system works on the fundamental concepts that the body does: pushing, pulling, rotation, locomotion and jumping and bounding. From these five basic things that the body does, the Bartendaz system approaches natural movement in a way that nobody has seen,” says Dr. Goodbody of The Bartendaz. “A push would be a pushup, a pull would be a pull-up, and a rotation adds the core or the torso to those moves. The actual walking position in exercise science is broken down into a lunge. A sitting position becomes a squat. These are all natural movements that the body does that the Bartendaz have taken to the next level.”
According to Devin Price, CEO of Shine Fights, “these additions are sure to enhance the overall experience for the fans.”
The intermission show will occur between the preliminary and the main card fights of Shine 2: American Top Team vs. The World. Taking the form of a halftime show usually seen at NBA basketball games, this showcase will exhibit The Bartendaz unique exercise techniques and audience participation.
Headlined by five-time UFC veteran and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Roan “Jucao” Carneiro versus UFC and Pride veteran Jorge “Macaco” Patino, this fight is the definition of beef. With a pre-existing rivalry already in the air this bout will be a war for bragging rights in Brazil spilled into the bosom of Miami.
With the remaining bouts including: Ryan Healy, Luiz Firmino, Falvio Alvaro, Jean Silva, Carlo Prater, Junior Assuncao, Herbert Goodman, Micah Miller, Vennesa Porto, Ediene Gomes, Dave Branch and Fabiano Capoani, this will be one this the most stacked cards of world-class athletes to ever hit Miami.
American Top Team is one of the largest and most active Mixed Martial Arts (“MMA”) teams in the world. The team has over 1,000 members, more than fifty of whom compete professionally in MMA, Western Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Grappling, Wrestling, and Muay Thai events all over the world. American Top Team has rapidly developed a reputation of success and has consistently produced many MMA and BJJ champions on an individual and team basis. Named the best place to train in MMA in the state of Florida and recognized as a champion making team by UFC President Dana White, American Top Team is the premier source for quality MMA athletes in Florida. By placing the majority of the card with American Top Team fighters, this card truly pays homage to Floridians filled with hometown pride.
Roan “Jucao” Carneiro was one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s rising stars when he entered the promotion in April 2007 against Rich Clementi at UFC Fight Night 9. That bout resulted in a hard fought unanimous decision victory that showcased his hardnosed style. A loss to Jon Fitch two months later was then redeemed by a win over B.J. Penn protégé, Tony DeSousa and then back-to back losses to Kevin Burns and Ryo Chonan. The last loss sent Carneiro out of the UFC and his first return to the cage is now within Shine Fight Promotions. Having battled some of the best fighters in the world, Carneiro is ready to get back on the road to redemption.
Jorge “Macaco” Patino defines the word MMA veteran battling professionally since 1995. From the inception of MMA, Patino has been in the mix battling within the vale tudo (anything goes) circuit in Brazil. From the outset, Patino began his career with nine straight wins with six of the nine captured in the first round. Making his debut outside of Brazil in the UFC, Patino fought Pat Miletich for the Lightweight Championship at UFC 18. What ensued was a whirlwind tour that took Patino to Japan and all over the continental U.S. where he maintained his reputation as an elite fighter.
