TapOut’s Charles “Mask” Lewis To Be Honored With 10 Count At April 18th Worlds Collide Show
(PRESS RELEASE) -- It is a long standing tradition that when a
great competitor or sports icon in boxing passes away, that they
are honored with a moment of silence and the ringing of the
timekeeper’s bell ten times to signify a final 10 count.
Boxing, as well as mixed martial arts promoter Roy Englebrecht announced today that he will honor TapOut owner Charles “Mask” Lewis, with a 10 Count at his mixed martial arts and boxing Worlds Collide show on Saturday, April 18th at Buffalo Bill’s Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, Nevada.
“My staff and I had the brief opportunity to meet and talk with Mask over the past year, and on both occasions he showed genuine interest in what we were doing on the club level,” said Englebrecht. “What surprised me was that he was very approachable, humble and courtesy in our conversations, not what you might have thought from his Mask persona. Honoring Mask with a 10 count is the least I can do to honor a true MMA pioneer.”
On April 18th, all fans in attendance at the Worlds Collide show will be asked to rise and observe a moment of silence as the bell is rung 10 times, and a photo of Charles “Mask” Lewis Jr. displayed on the video screen.
