This week on GFL COMBAT SPORTS NETWORK

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Friday, September 23, 2011 9:00pm ET featuring School of Hard Knocks Fighting Championship 14, Century Casino, Calgary, Canada. In the main event, Keto Allen (6-2) fights Andrew Buckland (13-8-1) in a welterweight championship bout in a battle of British Columbia natives. Allen is coming off of an impressive first round submission win in July and looks to add to his momentum with the bout against Buckland. Buckland is on a two fight submission win streak of his own. Buckland has fought all over Canada and his record reads like a "who's who" of some of the top MMA fighters from the Great White North. With the HKFC Welterweight Championship on the line, expect these two gladiators to leave it all in the cage. Both guys have wins via TKO and submission and are well-rounded athletes, but it might come down to experience as Buckland has faced much tougher opponents throughout his career. This is a great matchup and what is sure to be a barnburner of a fight. In the co-main event, Charmaine "Not So Sweet" Tweet (0-1) battles Heather Martin (2-1, amateur record) who is making her professional debut. Tweet is coming off of a tough debut fight with Ronda Rousey who caused quite a buzz with her last fight in Strikeforce. For Tweet, the bout with Martin is another opportunity to showcase her overall MMA skillset which begins with her base, kickboxing. Tweet was also able to show some great scrambling in her previous fight so she is quite proficient in her standup and ground. Martin is no stranger to throwing punches and will look to mix it up with Tweet on the feet. Expect Martin to stand in the middle of the cage and throw punches in bunches. This bout could be Fight of the Night and should be action packed from the opening bell. Along with 5 pro bouts, HKFC is also a proving ground for amateur fighters ready to earn their stripes. The 10-bout amateur series will separate the contenders from the pretenders and build to the future for HKFC and Canadian MMA.

- Friday, September 23, 2011 9:30pm ET featuring Rumble in the Cage 44 from Lethbridge Exhibition Grand Stands, Lethbridge, Canada. The main event, Dan Chambers (16-16) fights Brandon MacArthur (5-17) in a middleweight bout. Both are veterans inside of the cage and have fought some of the toughest Canada has to offer. Chambers is on a two-fight win stream winning via TKO in Round 1 in both, and will look to carry that momentum into this bout and improve his record past .500. Look for Chambers to come out swinging and try to get another early stoppage. For MacArthur, he finds himself on the opposite side of the coin, losing his last two. Expect MacArthur to throw everything but the kitchen sink at Chambers in hopes of starting his own winning streak at Chambers' expense. All of MacArthur's victories have come via submission so if the fight gets to the ground expect MacArthur to try and isolate an arm, leg or the neck. In the co-main event, Jared Kilkenny (9-8) battles Moise Rimbon (17-9-3) in a heavyweight battle. Kilkenny is more of a banger, while Rimbon likes to strike but also has a great ground game, finishing two of his last three opponents with submissions. Kilkenny is the smaller of the two and should have better cardio conditioning going into the fight, so his game plan might focus on trying to wear out the bigger Rimbon. For Rimbon, he has fought a bevy of champions including Alistair Overeem, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricco Rodriguez. Expect him to use is experience advantage and try to overpower Kilkenny in the early going. Don't blink when these two brahma bulls get in the cage. There should be fireworks from the opening bell.
