Turf Wars III Announced
With the popularity of mixed martial arts (MMA) growing around the
world, the emergence of new fight promoters in the Tampa area was
inevitable. Mixed Martial Arts World Fighting Championships
(MMAWFC), formed in 2006, is promoting Turf Wars III, its latest
event at the A La Carte Event Pavilion, located at 4050 Dana Shores
Drive in Tampa, scheduled for Saturday, April 7.
Doors to the event open at 7:00 p.m. with matches beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster with prices ranging from $25 for general admission to $100 for VIP seating.
MMAWFC is the brainchild of three Tampa area businessmen: Thomas Crowther, who uses his salesmanship and business savvy, Joe Testa, who offers his strong characters and stability to the mix, and Elizabeth Barry who brings her financial knowledge and experience to the team. The three form the core of the company and their partnership is off to a fast start with the highly successful Turf Wars I selling out the A La Carte Events Pavilion on January 4 and Turf Wars II selling it out on February 9.
Heavy promotion of mixed martial arts and the company's fighters is planned for 2007 through a heavy schedule of planned events. "Turf Wars III is the second of our events planned for 2007," said Crowther, CEO. "We plan to hold a new event every seven to eight weeks at the A La Carte Pavilion and then a bigger event three times a year at a much larger venue. We understand the popularity of the sport and we know that the key to our success is great fighters and action packed fight cards.
Turf Wars III features all those elements and more."
