UFC Veteran and World Jiu-Jitsu Champion Alberto Crane Holds Seminar to Combat Type 1 Diabetes
(PRESS RELEASE) -- On October 24, UFC veteran and world jiu-jitsu
champion Alberto
Crane will conduct two separate Brazilian Jiu-jitsu seminars to
benefit finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. The first seminar will
be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the second from 2 p.m. to
3 p.m. at his Legacy Mixed Martial Arts training center in Encino,
California.
“A child of one of my student’s has Type I diabetes. As his instructor, I care about my students inside and out of the gym. He informed me about the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and now it is something I passionately support and donate my time to,” said Crane.
JDRF is the leader in research leading to a cure for Type 1 diabetes (aka “juvenile diabetes”) in the world.
The seminars will focus on the basics of self-defense, utilizing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu techniques. The cost for the event and all proceeds go directly to JDRF, under Team Lucca.
Crane has more than a decade worth of teaching experience, and is currently channeling that knowledge into his students at the Encino-based Legacy Mixed Martial Arts Academy, alongside world-class jiu-jitsu instructor Romulo Barral.

At the age of 18, his official journey into the world of communications began at KNTV-11, the local NBC affiliate in the Silicon Valley. After 5 years of learning the media business, Phil took the next step, joining a PR and marketing firm specializing in the technology industry. From there, he worked with a theatre PR and marketing firm. After conversations with several important people in his life, along with much research and introspection, Phil combined his passion for music, sports, the church, and God into one endeavor, and started Fight of Your Life Communications.
