Viewing party in support of Hanford’s Chad Mendes to take place January 14 as Mendes battles for the UFC Featherweight Title on Pay Per View

(PRESS RELEASE) -- UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Fighter Chad Mendes was born and raised in Hanford, CA where he posted many wrestling achievements at Hanford High School. Mendes continued his studies at Cal Poly and achieved enormous success on a national level in collegian wrestling.

He finished his career with an overall record of 64-14. As a Senior, Mendes finished the year with a 30-1 record, being ranked #1 in the nation for most of the season. Mendes received All-American honors both in 2005 for the 125 weight class and again in 2008 for the 141 weight class. In 2008, Mendes also received Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year honors.

After college Mendes began his mixed martial arts career at Tachi Palace Fights in Lemoore, CA posting a 5-0 record and was signed immediately by the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting). In 2010 the WEC was purchased by the UFC and Mendes was signed to the fastest rising sports company in the world.

Mendes now 11-0 will get his opportunity to become the UFC’s Featherweight Champion as he battles Brazil’s Jose Aldo for the title on January 14, live on Pay Per View.

Perez along with his company J-Live Entertainment and former Hanford High athlete Michael Thigpin will be holding “The Official Chad Mendes Championship Fight Viewing Party” on January 14 at the Kings Fairgrounds Grape Room & Wine Garden in Hanford.

The event titled, "MENDES MADNESS" will feature the only exclusively licensed live broadcast in Hanford of the UFC 142 pay per view on multiple screens including a huge Big Screen with movie theatre sound.

Mendes Madness an event for all ages will also feature a Full Bar for the 21 & older, a variety of food selections, prizes, silent auctions for UFC & Sports memorabilia and more.

Doors open at 4pm and the Live UFC broadcast begins at 7pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
