The event takes place on March 28th, 2009 at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec; just outside of Ottawa. W1: INCEPTION is headlined by the biggest fight in Gatineau/Ottawa MMA history as former UFC Welterweight Champion CARLOS ‘THE RONIN’ NEWTON returns to fight in Canada for the time in thirteen years. Newton will be facing the tough NABIL ‘THE THRILL’ KHATIB, who has faced some of the top fighters in the world. Khatib is hoping that a win against Newton will give him the recognition he deserves around the world that he has achieved throughout Canada.
Also scheduled to appear on the fight card are:
· Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts star Mark ‘Boots’ Holst
· One of Canada’s top strikers in Martin ‘The Hammer’ Grandmont,
· Former WWE and CFL superstar and current Team 1200 radio host, Glenn Kulka
· One of Ottawa’s most popular fighters, Craig ‘Farmer’ Brown
