(PRESS RELEASE) -- W1: UNPLUGGED is less than six weeks away and the card is taking shape to once again be one of the most exciting events ever in the area. The event is headlined by the first title fight in W1 history, as CRAIG ‘FARMER’ BROWN takes on UFC Veteran BILL ‘The Butcher’ MAHOOD for the W1 Light Heavyweight Title. The co-main event features MARK ‘BOOTS’ HOLST against JASON ‘SUMO SAMURAI’ ST. LOUIS.

In addition to the great fights that were previously announced, two high level fights have been added to the card. After an incredible W1 debut in March, HOSIER ‘LE COMMANDO’ BRUNO will face Ottawa’s ANDRE “MAJOR” DESROCHERS who is currently training with Team Bushido MMA. Bruno is coming off a KO win and in Desrochers’ last fight he won another organization’s heavyweight title. Their paths will collide at W1: UNPLUGGED as both men are looking to improve on their unbeaten record and make a major impact in the Canadian Heavyweight Division.

Also added to the card, SEAN ‘PIMP DADDY’ PIERSON returns to Gatineau to face IRAJ ‘COLD BLOODED’ HADIN. Pierson is one of Canada’s most popular fighters and is W1 is extremely excited to have him in the cage.

“Sean is one of the most underrated talents in Canada,” said W1 Matchmaker Alex Caporicci. “He is tough as nails and is definitely one of the country’s top welterweights. He’s an asset to any event both in skill and style.”

Scheduled instructors include former UFC Champion CARLOS ‘THE RONIN’ NEWTON, UFC 97 winner and top contender Cheick Kongo, The Ultimate Fight Alumni MATT ‘THE HAMMER’ HAMIL, and other accomplished instructors to be announced shortly. Sunday's sessions will be an official audition for each participant interested in becoming a W1 competitor. This will involve some light sparring, ground work and interviews.
