WFC Invades Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN - The WFC World Fighting Championships and Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota announced the largest Mixed Martial Arts card in Minnesota history is set for Saturday, September 15th. Twelve championship bouts featuring some of the biggest MMA Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the country will all be on this same "DOWNTOWN THROWDOWN" spectacular card. Event promoter, Carey Thul, stated, "The success of our promotions and growing stable of MMA stars requires us to book this extravaganza in a major league venue. Target Center will allow us to properly showcase our world class athletes and accommodate our exploding fan base."

Stars of the Show

Marcus "The Prospect" LeVesseur - Minneapolis - 155 lbs (7-0, 5 KO's) is a 25 year old budding MMA Superstar that is no stranger to Minnesota sports fans. Marcus is a former 4-time national college wrestling champion at Augsburg (155-0) and 4-time former Minnesota state high school champion. Incredibly Marcus has never lost a collegiate or prep match - a perfect record on the mat that Marcus has kept in tact since he burst onto the MMA scene 2 years ago. As a professional fighter Marcus is 7-0 and is clearly one of WCF'S exciting headliners.

Alecia "Ice Cold" Mena - St. Paul - 155 lbs (7-1, 5 KO's) is arguably the meanest woman in Minnesota and couldn't be more proud of that athletic distinction. Alecia, 24, went to Humboldt High School in St. Paul where she repeatedly made headlines for winning wrestling championships. 22 times Alecia has been named an All-American. Alecia is a former pro football player for the Minnesota Vixens but acknowledges there is not enough hitting in football to keep her interested.

Travis "The Diesel" Wiuff - Rochester, MN - 205 lbs (44-11-0) is just entering the prime of his highly successful Mixed Martial Arts career. Wiuff, whose last name is pronounced "view", has been rolling over MMA opponents for more than a decade. Travis calls Rochester, Minnesota home and this opportunity to help headline a spectacular card like this, the personal thrill of a lifetime. "This sport has come a long way since I first started fighting. What a thrill to be a part of what promises to be a historic event. I can't wait!" explained Wiuff.

Brad "Hillbilly Heartthrob" Imes - Des Moines, Iowa, 250 lbs. (7-3-0), is a big man with a big name in Mixed Martial Arts. He is an accomplished veteran in the UFC - rising to national prominence, when he finished runner-up to Rashad Evans (Pictures) on SPIKE TV's network reality series. Standing 6'7", this giant's strength is grappling. Brad played offensive tackle for the University of Missouri. He went on to play professionally for the Arena Football League's Iowa Barnstormers. Brad is a former strength coach for the University of Missouri and Texas Christian University football teams. This December, Brad makes his film debut playing the role of a thug named "Hoss" in the movie "Missionary Man" starring legendary tough man Dolph Lundgren.

VIP tickets and special ringside tables of 8 for $1,500.00 ($187.50 per seat) can also be purchased. VIP tables include a spectacular dinner catered by the event's presenting sponsor - Bellanotte. Target Center doors open at 6:30 pm. Fights begin at 7:30pm.
