XFC closes out 2013 with a new Featherweight Champion & International Network Deal with REDE TV!
Dec 20, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- On December 13th, the XFC closed out its highly
successful 2013, with an exciting mix of highlight reel finishes
and competitive decisions as XFC 27: Frozen Fury took over
Muskegon, Michigan, for its final show of the year. The temperature
outside of the L.C. Walker Arena may have been freezing, but the
action inside was red-hot. The raucous crowd stood on their feet
and cheered the entire night, showing their appreciation to Mr.
John Prisco, Mr. Myron Molotky, and crew, for bringing high level
MMA, and national attention, to the Great Lakes State.
In the evenings Main Event, Featherweights Farkhad Sharipov and Deivison Ribeiro squared off for the promotions 145 pound title. In what many viewed as a toss up, both men came into the contest confident they would be able to impose their will and set the tone for the fight. It would be the Brazilian, Ribeiro, however, that grabbed the momentum early with superior striking and excellent take down defense. Although Sharipov was never in danger, it was clear to the judges and everyone watching, that the night belonged to “The Dragon”. A winner on all three score cards, Ribeiro took home the strap and the company’s fourth championship of 2013.
In accompanying news, the XFC announced a partnership with XFC International and a deal with Latin America broadcaster Rede Tv! that will host a new series of XFC events named 'MMA Copa'. The news spread through Latin and North America in an instant and is the "talk of the town" in MMA this week. For more information, please view the articles and press releases below.
