XFS 8 “TRAINWRECK”
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Downtown Boise , Idaho sprang to life as
Knockout Promotions welcomed an exciting night of Mixed Martial
Arts Professional Fighting to the Qwest Arena, with XFS # 8 “TRAIN
WRECK.”
The night opened with the typical bells and whistles associated with what the area has come to know as one of the regions premier MMA programs. Heavy Fog, bright lights, heart pounding music, and the beautiful KNOCKOUT ring girls lead the way as modern day gladiators do battle in a cage at the center of the quest arena floor. Some fighters are lead to the cage by ripping loud modified motorcycles screaming their basin engines. “Its fairly captivating”, said Professional fight announcer, John Holsman.
Eager fans were greeted by 5 Lightweight bouts that consisted of chokes, Knockouts and plenty of blood. The night had a little bit of everything “said Fight Announcer”, John Holsman. I think fight fans went away from this event tonight, filling full. This is the program that fighters are trying to get on because of the exposure and ambiance associated with its size and reputation. “This is wear the stars are born-Baby!”; Shouted a fan in reference to Brenden Raftry, whose tenacious punching not only won the crowd but won him the fight. The XFS 8 event carried an awesome hood ornament in the fact that on hand was World MMA Legend Urjiah “ THE CALIFORNIA KID” Faber.
The capacity crowd of 4,200 could hardly contain themselves as fight promoter Kasey Thompson meet in the cage with UFC / ULTIMATE FIGHTER legend Brandon “THE MURDERER” Melendez, Bodog standout Kyacey “ICE COLD” Uscola, as well as Faber.
Several other bouts created a stir at different times. Gabriel Miranda stopped Brandon Christensen in a classic welterweight confrontation, and local favorite Kayce “Ice Cold” Uscola stopped, “The Hard Hitting” Manny Hernandez in Middleweight action. Mitch Coates from Boise, lost a hard fought grappling submission match to four time World Ju Jitsu Champion / and nine time Brazilian World Champion Fredson Piaxon.
Expect much more exciting MMA fight action to fill the Qwest Arena through out the summer, starting May 1st with CCF 17 – “EXECUTION” For more information call (208) 629-6282’
*** Official attendance – 4,281 ***
