HONOLULU, April, 27 -- ICON Sport held a press conference Friday at California Rock and Roll Sushi to announce Robbie Lawler (Pictures)'s first title defense since recapturing the ICON Sport middleweight world title. Stepping up to challenge the tough Iowan is Hawaii's own Kala Kolohe Hose.
A former heavyweight, Kala Kolohe has ended his last three fights with impressive knockout victories, with his only loss being a dropped decision to Reese Andy (Pictures) in both men's first professional fight.
"I'm excited," Hose told Sherdog.com. "This is a great opportunity for me."
The event is dubbed "Fearless," which fitting for Hose, who comes into the bout with only four professional fights.
"I'll be more than prepared for five rounds," the challenger stated. "But I think can knock [Lawler] out in the second or third."
Scheduled for June 30 at Oahu's Neal S. Blaisdell Arena, ICON Sport: Fearless features a total of 12 bouts, including three title fights.
