Scuffles Abound at Cage Rage Weigh-In
Weigh-Ins
LONDON, April 21 The weigh-in for Cage Rage 16 followed the formula set by its predecessors, with the good-natured event being highlighted by a wholly predictable bust up between Boy and Ass, also known as the Brothers Bad.
Unwilling or unable to wait for their fight tomorrow evening, Jeremy Bailey (Pictures) and Jason Barret tried to get things started early. Fortunately there were enough people there to ensure that this was just a case of pre-fight handbags.
High levels of testosterone were also present during the weigh-ins of Edson Drago and Tengiz Tedoradze (Pictures), with the Brazilian doing his best to intimidate the stone-faced Tedordze during the pose-down. In the end it took a concerted external intervention to separate the two men.
The final impolite act of the night belonged to the middleweight champion, Anderson Silva (Pictures), who refused to shake his opponent's hand. Instead the Brazilian brushed Tony Fryklund (Pictures)'s hand contemptuously away, leaving the American bemused.
The official weights were as follows:
Anderson Silva (Pictures) (83.7 kg) vs. Tony Fryklund (Pictures) (80 kg)
Dave Menne (Pictures) (82 kg) vs. Alex Reid (Pictures) (83.5 kg)
