WEC 9 "Cold Blooded" Photos
Yves Edwards vs Deshaun Johnson
In what can only be described as a one-sided brutality, Yves Edwards showed why he is one of the most feared strikers in the lightweight division as he picked apart a helpless Deshaun Johnson for 15 minutes. It was like a cat playing with a mouse as Edwards stalked his prey around the cage, unleashing a torrent of punches, kicks and knees towards his overmatched opponent. The fight could have been stopped near the end of the second round or at almost any point of the third as Johnson stopped moving forward and stood defensively against the cage, refusing to do anything but defend himself. Referee Herb Dean let the bloodbath continue and the swollen and bloody Johnson survived to the end of the fight. Yves Edwards scores the victory with a unanimous decision after three rounds.
