Now for the most shocking part of the event. In the lag time between each fight four go-go dancers would get onto pedestals at each of the four corners of the ring and start dancing to techno music (is techno music an oxymoron?).
Well between fights five and six Tank Abbott got into the ring and began dancing as well. After he got tired of dancing he went onto the stage the fighters used to walk out of and went on a drunken rant about fighting anyone for tequila shots. He then began to undress and walked into the ring wearing nothing but tight, blue, shiny speedos. At this point Tank had been running the show for about ten minutes. He then challenged all in attendance to fight him right then and there. Well someone took his challenge. Brandon Vera of City boxing and training partner of Dean Lister walked to the stage took off his shoes and began to prep for a fight. The crowd went wild! For those of you who don’t know, Vera has legitimate skills on the ground and standing. He’s even a top notch wrestler.
The promoter put a stop to all and stated that the fight will be set up for their July 25th show. I won’t hold my breath. Getting a drunk Tank to fight is easy. Getting a sober Tank to fight usually costs money, and lots of it.
