On to the under card bouts, JC Pennington looked like a typical Eminem-loving middle-class American youth. The wiry, tatted Cajun came in against Brazilian Black Belt Tonny Canales looking to throw down on him. But when that only moderately worked and he ended up on his back, he showed he could hang with a man that was ranked way above him in color of belt.
Pennington worked on his back well and flowed as Canales tried to initiate a ground-and-pound game. Then it seemed like Canales got a little sloppy and Pennington was able to slap a triangle choke on him to get the tapout.
