The third fight of the night was HMC Kickboxing's Mike Bauer against Grappling Unlimited's Brandon Keene. The action in this one was back and forth, with heavy punches being thrown throughout. Bauer definitely had the advantage in terms of kicks, but Keene was able to close the gap and unleash his furious hands before securing takedown after takedown. Bauer showed well on the ground, but in the end submitted to a rear naked choke at 1:58 of the second round. As an entertaining side note, Keene's teammate (and standout local fighter) Eddie Yagin was seated ringside in Keene's corner, and unleashed a torrent of (respectful) smack-talk meant to motivate Keene. Yagin was sufficiently voluminous to wake the dead, though, and his running commentary and advice to Keene provided a source of entertainment to the arena throughout. Someone get that guy an announcing position with the next local event he doesn't fight in, please!
