The last of the first round matches was Roger Huerta from Minneapolis against Harris Sarmiento of the 808 Fight Factory. This one was back and forth for the first couple of rounds, with Huerta being the aggressor and Sarmiento delivering very effective counter punches and kicks.
Huerta was explosive throughout the entire fight and landed some bombs that seemed to take it out of Sarmiento in the early rounds. Huerta got a takedown in the third round and proceeded to pound Harris’ head through the mat with some heavy right hands, forcing the referee to stop the fight at 2:12. Huerta, despite being in an awesome, high-paced fight, barely looked like he was breathing heavy. This guy has speed, stamina, technique and cardio for days. Look for more out of him at some point in the future.
