John Fitch barged onto the MMA scene with his dominating victory over a crafty Shonie Carter. Fitch, a former wrestling team captain from Purdue, put on a take down display while controlling every aspect of the match. After bloodying Carter's nose, Fitch kept up the pressure eventually forcing the tap out after another takedown at :41 of the third round. Carter did not look to be in to much trouble at the time of the tap but began vomiting profusely in the ring soon after.
