In what can only be described as a train wreck, UFC and Pride veteran Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell's brother Sean made his MMA debut against the equally cardio challenged Chris Sanders. Both men came to bang with Liddell getting the better of it early but the momentum shifted to Sanders as Liddell looked to have punched himself out. Sanders put a beating on Liddell but could not finish him as he tired as well.
It was difficult to watch as both men, gassed beyond belief, struggled to make it through the last minute of the 1st round. At one point it looked like Liddell was finished as Sanders teed off on the unresponsive fighter. The fight probably should have been stopped by referee Josh Rosenthal but it was allowed to continue and Liddell survived the round. Between rounds, Sanders-who along with Liddell could barely stand at this point-let it be known he could not continue. Liddell was awarded the victory in his tremendously unspectacular debut.
