TKO 17: Revenge - Pictures
Ryan Diaz vs Thierry Quenneville
Ryan Diaz (6 - 8) vs. Thierry Quenneville (4 - 1)
Coming off the opening bell, both fighters looked ready to bang, yet remained somewhat hesitant. Diaz backed Quenneville into the corner and was able to take him down, in the process, however, lending Quenneville the opportunity to ensnare Diaz¡¯s ankle in a nasty looking lockup. Escaping from the hold, Diaz trapped Quenneville¡¯s arm under one knee, rendering it useless, and fed him a feast of strikes from this solid position. Quenneville tuned to expose his back and find relief from Diaz¡¯s onslaught. Diaz, hooks sunk in, attempted to submit Quenneville with a rear naked choke, but then opted to continue pummeling his opponent with strikes while maintaining the back mounted position.
In round 2 Quenneville made an attempt to take Diaz to the ground, but allowed his opponent to land in a dominant mounted position. From here, Diaz took a side control position and gave Quenneville a second helping of elbows and forearms. Quenneville tried to sweep Diaz, but a slick Diaz was able to lock on an unorthodox triangle choke from a side position. A few more body shots are delivered to further break down his opponent before Diaz takes the win via triangle choke at 2:11 of Round 2.
