The next bout was a kickboxing matchup between Danny “Hard As” Steele of Team Steele, Honolulu and Melvin “The Warrior” Murrey of the World Kickboxing Academy in Vancouver, eh. (Sorry…Too many times seeing Strange Brew.) This one was fairly slow, with Steele trying to mount some offense against Murrey, only to see him clinch and plant some of the softest, slowest knees I’ve ever seen in Steele’s general direction. As the bout wore on, Steele continued to try to press the action, and Murrey exchanged only as long as it took to get into the clinch and stall. On multiple occasions he ignored the referee’s commands to break, and had to be physically removed from the clinch. Steele gave his all, but ultimately wasn’t able to avoid the tie up, and this one ended in a draw.
