Sam Stout (2 - 1 - 1) vs. Steve Claveau (1 - 4)
Hometown favourite Steve Claveau went up against a tough opponent in Sam Stout in the hopes of improving his 1-4 fight record. The beginning of the bout looked to be going in favour of Claveau, scoring a double-leg takedown and moving to mount to deliver a ground and pound beating to Stout, much to the delight of the fans. An armbar attempt by Claveau had the crowd cheering even harder, but was brought to a halt when Stout successfully rolled out to escape and stand back up. Claveau executed another takedown, but this time was swept and is left with Stout in his guard. Stout began to deliver his own offering of ground and pound, opening up a cut above Claveau¡¯s eye and forcing the ref to come to his relief at 3:07 of Round 1. Hard-hitting Sam Stout wins via TKO.
Claveau, after his tough loss, announced to the crowd that he would now retire from MMA. A standing ovation was prompted for Claveau, who has given so much to the Quebec MMA scene, and will continue to do in the form of training his own roster of fighters.
