In match up of unbeaten fighters, Chris Leben and Mike Swick squared off for the right to wear the WEC middleweight belt. It was all Leben as the Team Quest product used his strength to dictate the pace of the first round nearly ending it with a rear naked choke as the round expired. Then, as the second round began, in a vicious exchange, Leben landed a crushing left hand that sent Swick, folding awkwardly, to the mat. Chris Leben wins the WEC middleweight title with a knockout win at 0:45 of the second round.
