Anthony Ruiz defeated Bryan Pardoe by TKO 2:25 1R
After a short break, the first group of Feature Fights was about to start. First off, with Brian Sleeman “unable to continue” in the tournament, Anthony Ruiz fought Brian Pardo for a spot as an alternate. Pardo came out strong and got a quick takedown, landing in Ruiz’s half guard. Brian moved to mount, and attempted a keylock, but Anthony was able to reverse the position. From here on out things got really bloody as Ruiz pounded through Pardo’s guard, opening up some nasty cuts. Blood was flying everywhere, even onto some of the reviews and judges sitting next to the cage. The referee thankfully stopped the bloodbath soon after. Ruiz attains the alternate spot by TKO at 2:25 Round 1.
