Rashad Evans defeated Bryan Pardoe by TKO 3:24 1R

Kicking off the event was the introduction of the fighters participating in the two tournaments, followed by the first round of the Light Heavyweight tournament. The first fight of the night featured Brian Pardo versus Rashad Evans. Pardo, whose build is that of a man much larger than 205lbs, tried in vain to get a takedown shortly after the bell. Shortly after Pardo’s failed attempt, Evans would succeed in getting a takedown of his own. From there, he proceeded to completely own Pardo, who was on the bottom for the remainder of the short fight. Rashad ended the fight after a lot of abuse with strikes on the mat, giving him the TKO win at 3:24 Round 1.
