Aloha, and welcome! For those of you who live on the island paradise of Oahu and didn’t come to this past weekend’s Superbrawl, you flatly missed out. There were great fights on the card, 4 former/current UFC champions in the house (2 on the fight card), representatives from every major MMA school in Hawaii and a superhuman effort by a couple of modern-day gladiators (see photo of Menne’s face). Enough of the lead in; let’s get to the fights!

First up was Ed Nawalu of the 808 Fight Factory versus Harvey Nakamoto of Team Grappling Unlimited. These two lightweights went at it, with Harvey getting the edge on the feet, but having no answers for Nawalu’s takedowns and ground-n’-pound game. Ed got the takedown early and often, and smothered Harvey with his body to make room for some great shots that looked pretty painful.
