Greg Savage and Jeff Sherwood were live Wednesday on The Sherdog Radio Network. Joining them were MMA agents Monte Cox and Ken Pavia.
Monte Cox is one of the busiest men in MMA. Whether he is managing the careers of former UFC champions Rich Franklin (Pictures), Tim Sylvia (Pictures), and Jens Pulver (Pictures), or promoting fights throughout the country, Monte is everywhere the sport is. Recently in his home state of Iowa, MMA was on the verge of being deregulated. Monte talks about the state of the sport in Iowa and what steps have been taken to ensure its future.
Ken Pavia represents many MMA stars. Chris Lytle (Pictures), Mark Kerr (Pictures), and Ricco Rodriguez (Pictures) are just a few of the fighters on his MMAAgents.com roster. Pavia talks about his client Phil Baroni (Pictures). "The NYBA" has recently been in alleged scuffles outside of MMA competition. Last month it was reported on Sherdog.com that Baroni had been arrested in Florida, and most recently Baroni was in an altercation with UFC fighter Josh Burkman (Pictures). Pavia talks about Baroni's actions, and what it takes to be an agent in the world's fastest growing sport.
