A battle that was expected to be a glorious display of jiu jitsu, Antonio Carlos Jr. and Eric Spicely more than delivered at UFC 212.
“Shoeface” spent most of the opening round in the 50/50 guard with Spicely but when the Brazilian went head-to0head with the Rhode Island native on the canvas in the second, it was a mismatch. Carlos Jr. seized Spicely’s back and threatened with the rear-naked choke for a few minutes before finally landing it. Once he sunk it in deep, Spicely had no choice but to tap, ending the fight officially at 3:49 of the second.
