Steven Ray UFC Fight Night 108 Post-Fight Scrum Video
With his back on the canvas and on the verge of being either knocked out or submitted, Scotland’s Steven Ray dug deep and turned the tables on fan favorite Joe Lauzon.
Ray was taken down early in the first and had to fend off an endless stream of punches, elbows, pressure and submission attempts. The wild opening frame cost Lauzon dearly, though, as his immense pressure sapped the energy out of his gas tank.
Ray crept back into the fight in the second with terrific flurries of punches to the body and head and, with Lauzon running fumes in the closing minute of the third, “Braveheart” teed off on the Bostonian. In the end, one judge had it 28-28 but that score was offset by the other two who favored Ray 29-27 and 28-27 for the majority decision win (bookmakers).
