Gilbert Burns may have started strongly against Dan Hooker in their lightweight encounter, but it didn’t take long until the Kiwi turned the tides.

Hooker was rocked by an overhand right moments into the fight, but “The Hangman” dropped his foe with a straight right to the chin once he cleared his head. Hooker let the Brazilian up and promptly dug a powerful left hook to the liver and then turned out Burns’ lights with a follow-up left hook to the jaw. Burns crumbled in a heap, prompting referee Mark Smith to immediately step in to end the pounding at 2:28 of the first.
