Flyweight prospect Yoni Sherbatov was knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten Saturday in Rimini, Italy, where Brazilian underdog Miguel Felipe Bunes da Silva scored a stunning first-round submission at ACB 85.
Sherbatov, an accomplished grappler, was previously undefeated in eight professional matches, with seven wins and one draw. The Russian-born Canadian was previously defeated by Eric Shelton during the taping of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 24, though that match was contested as an exhibition. “Felipinho,” meanwhile, collected his eighth consecutive win; seven of the Pitbull Brothers pupil’s 10 victories have come by way of submission.
