Holly Holm: I Won the Final Three Rounds
Holly Holm talks about her disappointing loss to Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208.
Holm was looking to make history as the only woman in the UFC to win a world title in two different weight classes, but elite muay Thai world champ de Randamie barely edged her over five unbelievably tight rounds.
The fight was mired in controversy as De Randamie badly hurt Holm with a crushing right hook after the horn ended the second round and then cracked “The Preacher’s Daughter” after the horn again in the third. However, the ref never deducted a point and even with Holm seizing control of the action in the championship rounds, it wasn’t enough. The Dutch fighter was awarded the decision unanimously with scores of 48-47 across the board, allowing her to capture the inaugural women’s featherweight title (online betting).
